From Overwhelm to Intentional Living: My Journey Back to Presence

From Overwhelm to Intentional Living: My Journey Back to Presence

Hi, I’m Siegrid — a registered nurse, mom of three, and founder of Siggy & Co Studio. For most of my adult life, I’ve lived in that space between caregiving and responsibility — at home and at work — while quietly trying to nourish the parts of myself that motherhood, work, and life tend to overlook.

My YouTube journey began with plants. I shared propagation jars, unboxings, and nursery visits because plants taught me something I desperately needed at the time: growth takes patience, and nothing thrives when rushed. And the plants never left — I still care for them deeply. But at some point, caring for plants shifted into collecting them.

One wishlist, one import, one nursery trip at a time. It became a comforting little addiction of unintentional purchases. Instead of grounding me, it began to take up space — physically, financially, mentally.

So I slowed down. I kept the ones that mattered and let the hobby become what it was always meant to be: a quiet ritual of tending and presence.

But the real beginning of all of this — the shift into intentional living and self-care — happened in a hotel room in Georgia. I was there alone for a nursing conference. Away from home, away from the noise, and for the first time in a long time… I could hear my thoughts. I remember reading books about decluttering, simplicity, and mental clarity. I remember lighting a candle at night after long conference days, and feeling something soften in me that had been tense for years. It was the first time I understood that self-care isn’t an escape — it’s repair.

Around that same season, life felt heavy. I was working full-time as a nurse, raising three small kids, keeping a household running, and trying to hold everything together at a time when the world itself felt overwhelming. Like many women, I became good at coping, but not at caring for myself.

Candles became a small ritual I could afford — a way to mark the evening, to transition from “doing” to “being,” to let my nervous system settle. Eventually, making them became creative. Then meaningful. Then a lifeline. And finally — a business rooted in intentional living and sensory comfort.

That’s why this channel is evolving.

I’m not abandoning plants. I’m expanding the story.

Here, you’ll still see greenery and soil, but you’ll also see coconut-soy wax, fragrance profiles, slow rituals, evening routines, nursing life, intentional motherhood, and what it looks like to build something at your own pace — without burning out.

My mission today is simple:
to help women create more presence in their days, more beauty in their homes, and more rituals that nourish rather than deplete.

Not perfect routines. Not aesthetic performance. Just real tools for living well through the chaos and the seasons of overwhelm we rarely talk about.

If that resonates with you, welcome.
Plants taught me patience. Candles taught me presence.
I’m excited to share both — and everything in between — with you.
